Business Analyst (Technical Consultant) – Integrations

Чем предстоит заниматься
Own the discovery and solution design of system integrations across different customer and internal projects
Analyze source and destination systems to understand how data should move between them
Research unfamiliar applications independently, including reviewing publicly available technical and API documentation before client discovery sessions
Lead technical discovery conversations with customers, implementation teams, developers, and other stakeholders
Identify the appropriate APIs, endpoints, operations, data sources, and integration mechanisms required to solve each use case
Define end-to-end integration flows, including how information is created, exchanged, transformed, validated, and synchronized across systems
Create detailed source-to-target data mappings, including field relationships, data types, transformations, required values, defaults, validation rules, and exceptions
Identify integration challenges such as mismatched identifiers, data dependencies, synchronization requirements, system limitations, and error scenarios
Propose practical technical solutions rather than relying on customers or developers to determine how the integration should work
Translate business integration needs into clear and actionable technical specifications that development teams can build from
Collaborate with engineering, implementation, QA, and client teams throughout delivery to clarify requirements and protect the integrity of the integration design
Support integration validation and troubleshooting when necessary
Work across multiple systems, customers, and projects and adapt quickly to changing technical contexts
What You Need to Succeed

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst specializing in system and API integrations to join our Professional Services team
This is not a traditional Business Analyst role focused primarily on backlog management, user stories, or application configuration. Your focus will be integration discovery and solution design
You will work across different client environments, platforms, and implementation projects to determine how systems should communicate, what data needs to move between them, and how the integration should be designed
You will be expected to quickly understand unfamiliar systems, research their integration capabilities, analyze API documentation, define data mappings and transformation requirements, identify technical constraints, and design practical integration solutions
You will not simply document what a customer asks for. We are looking for someone who can challenge assumptions, identify gaps, evaluate alternatives, and recommend how an integration should work
Strong critical thinking, technical curiosity, and independent problem-solving are essential for success in this role
Start date: September 2026
️Contract type: Independent Contractor + Indefinite Contract
Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM PST
Work mode: 100% remote
4+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Integration Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical Consultant, Integration Consultant, or similar role
Proven experience working on multiple system integration projects
Experience taking integration requirements beyond discovery and contributing directly to integration solution design
Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services, and system-to-system integrations
Ability to confidently read and interpret API documentation
Strong understanding of JSON and XML structures and data exchange concepts
Experience creating detailed data mappings between source and target systems
Understanding of data transformation, validation, synchronization, and error-handling concepts
Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to use or interpret queries for data analysis, validation, or troubleshooting
Ability to understand unfamiliar software systems and determine how their integration capabilities can be used to solve a business problem
Experience gathering technical requirements directly from customers and translating them into specifications for development teams
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Experience working directly with North American clients or distributed international teams
Ability to work independently and take ownership without requiring detailed step-by-step direction
Experience using Postman or similar tools to inspect and test APIs
Experience with ETL processes or file-based integrations such as FTP/SFTP
Familiarity with OAuth, API keys, bearer tokens, and other common authentication approaches
Experience troubleshooting API or data-integration issues
Previous software development or engineering experience
Experience with enterprise SaaS products or ERP ecosystems
Exposure to systems such as Medius, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar enterprise applications
Experience with financial, procurement, Accounts Payable, or Spend Management platforms
What Success Looks Like
You will be successful in this role when you can receive a new integration challenge, quickly understand the systems involved, perform meaningful research independently, conduct an efficient discovery session, identify the right questions and technical constraints, and turn that information into a solution that developers can confidently implement
Over time, we expect you to become someone the team can trust to enter an unfamiliar integration scenario and figure it out
You should be able to represent Launchpad confidently in customer and partner conversations, make sound technical recommendations within your area of responsibility, and move projects forward without requiring constant escalation or supervision
Introductory Conversation (60 minutes): Meet with our Talent team to learn more about Launchpad, our culture, working conditions, and the role. We will also explore your professional background, career interests, and overall fit for the opportunity
Final Interview (60 minutes): Meet with our Director of Professional Services for a deeper discussion about your technical expertise, consulting experience, client-facing skills, and the value you could bring to Launchpad and our projects
Follow-Up Conversation (Optional, 30 minutes): An additional conversation may be scheduled to clarify specific topics, meet another member of the team, or further explore technical or project-related experience
