Senior Python Backend Engineer (Remote, Europe)

A profitable and well-established European LegalTech product company is looking for a Senior Python Backend Engineer to help transform a mature platform from a monolith into a modern microservices architecture.

The product automates flight compensation claims for airline passengers and is actively expanding its AI capabilities, including voice agents, WhatsApp bots, document processing, and workflow automation.

Design and build Python microservices from scratch

Own services in production, including monitoring and incident response

Develop internal tooling and improve engineering infrastructure

Contribute to architecture, code reviews, and engineering standards

Work on AI-powered features using LLMs and modern AI APIs

Python 3.13, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Twilio, Grafana, Sentry, Langfuse, Anthropic/OpenRouter, Deepgram.

5+ years of commercial Python experience

Strong FastAPI and async Python expertise

Production experience with Docker & Kubernetes

Solid PostgreSQL knowledge

Experience building scalable backend services

Ownership mindset and production support experience

Daily use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Codex, etc.)

Basic hands-on experience with LLM APIs and prompt engineering

RAG, AI agents, voice AI, Twilio

Advanced Kubernetes

Deep understanding of asyncio

Remote-first team

Greenfield development on a modern stack

Real AI features in production (not PoCs)

Strong engineering culture with code reviews, automated testing, and zero-downtime deployments

Flexible working hours (overlap with EET business hours)
