About the Role

Spotware Systems is looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our product engineering team in Limassol, Cyprus, or work remotely.

In this role, you will work closely with Product Managers and Software Engineers to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance. You will be involved in functional and non-functional testing, test automation, performance validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of QA processes across complex backend systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QA Engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, improving testing strategies, and helping build robust, scalable financial technology products used by brokers and traders worldwide.

Responsibilities

Analyze business and technical requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies.

Perform manual and automated functional and non-functional testing.

Identify, investigate, document, and track software defects, providing clear root cause analysis and working closely with developers on resolution.

Maintain and improve test environments to ensure stable and efficient test execution.

Design, execute, and optimize test strategies for complex, high-availability backend systems.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test frameworks.

Participate in code reviews to maintain high quality standards across automated tests and production code.

Continuously improve QA processes, testing methodologies, and automation practices.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, primarily working with backend applications.

2+ years of experience troubleshooting Java applications.

Proficiency in Java for developing and maintaining automated tests.

Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and test design techniques, including boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and state transition testing.

Experience creating and maintaining test cases in Allure TestOps, including requirements traceability and reporting.

Hands-on experience testing microservices and event-driven architectures.

Experience testing TCP socket-based integrations, including WebSocket and gRPC.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform impact analysis and work with both functional and non-functional requirements.

Experience identifying root causes and understanding issue impact within complex backend environments.

Good SQL knowledge for backend data validation and troubleshooting.

Linux command-line experience for troubleshooting and maintaining test environments.

Strong communication skills with English (B1+) and Russian.

Active use of AI tools as part of your daily QA and engineering workflow.

Nice to Have

Experience working with binary protocols such as FIX.

Experience with PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or similar databases.

Experience with Kafka, Redis, or other messaging and caching systems.

Experience in the Forex industry or knowledge of trading platforms.
