Technical sales experience: You have worked with prospects, customers, partners, or technical buyers before. You know how to ask good questions, understand what someone is trying to build, and explain whether the product can help
Hands-on technical ability: You can read and write basic Python or JavaScript, test an API with cURL or Postman, and build simple examples without needing an engineer to do it for you
AI and search knowledge: You understand RAG, LLMs, agents, context windows, search APIs, and the difference between lexical and semantic search
Developer credibility: You know what makes APIs frustrating to use. You care about docs, rate limits, examples, error messages, and how long it takes someone to get their first successful API call
Clear communication: You can explain technical ideas in plain language. You can write docs, customer notes, demo scripts, and short technical explainers that do not sound like marketing copy
Good internal follow-through: You can take what customers are saying and turn it into useful feedback for Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing
